I have now decided upon a final idea and can now start planning my photo shoots in order to achieve the images I want. I have decided to focus on floors and more specifically the textures within them. Each photograph will be square format and taken from the minimum focusing distance of a Sigma 10-20mm set at 20mm. This will ensure each photograph is taken from the same height meaning the scale will be the same throughout the entire set.
To keep within the boundaries of a typology I want to focus on floors in 'neglected spaces'. So the location of the floors is my only real constraint. I won't be using photos that were taken on a busy high street in my final book, I will be favouring images taken in places that are neglected. Old streets, disused buildings etc. I want all of my photos to be taken outdoors and I will arrange them in a particular order within my final book.
I'm looking to create links between the photos and maybe create sets within the book with photos that share similar textures, patterns and colours.
I can now begin experimenting with my photographs and find out what works and what doesn't. I can now also begin to think about my final layout and investigate things such as full bleed images, grids or even blank pages.
